OneBox – save your attachments into cloud storage automatically

OneBox is a new cloud services. The concept is OneBox connect your email account and your cloud-based storage services. Once  a new email appears in your account, it will automatically save the attachments into your cloud-based storage, like Dropbox.

4) Then, connect your email account. You can add more than 1 email account. That is, you can connect more than 1 Gmail account.

6) If you want to save your email storage, click this on. OneBox can replace your account’s attachment as link. You can turn off later.

FlipQuiz – it’s a new online services for teachers to create the quiz.

Just having a quick try, it satisfied for me! As Flipquiz is easy to use, sign up then all gets to work!

You can simply enter your board’s name. Entering the question and answer, the rest leave it to Flipquiz. All done in a second!

Then you can login in any devices PC/MAC, iPad or Android to start your board and review what you talk with students!

The Playground of Mathematics – it’s an online service about math exercise. You can choose your language (13 types)  to do the exercises in addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

After a short trial, I feel really awesome about this online service. If you know how to use Photoshop, you should give a try with free.

After you edited your image, you can save as various kinds of image format.  That’s good for teachers and students to handle their stuff.

Flaticon – it can download Free vector icons in a second.

All you have to do is choose the right one. You can download as “svg” or “png” Which can use it in illustrator or Photoshop. Or, you can download it both.

Also, you can click “trending icons” to see what icons are in trend. Really convenient for us.

DeskConnect – Transfer your files between Mac and IOS

DeskConnect – it’s a new service to transfer your files, like photos, doc, Websites, to your Mac or iDevices.

The workflow is really simple: 1) installs the app from Mac store on your Mac  2) install the app from App Store.

The advantages of DeskConnect is Free and convenient. No need to upgrade to IOS 7 but has the same functions on AirDrop.

After a short try, I like its speed which is really fast.

Teachers can use this app to transfer the files to students easily. I used this app to share the “Flash” content to my students’ devices and open it from “Puffin” directly!

DictaNote – Dict your voice in Note

DictaNote – It is an online editor to type your text , insert the pictures. But this services not just that simple, it can turn your voice into test function!

Recordmp3 is an online service to let you recording mp3 online. After giving permission to use your computer’s mic and a video cam. You can start to record your voice.

QuestBase – online multi-platform assessment system

QuestBase  provided an online assessment platform. It supports various platforms: PC, Mac, Linux, Android, IOS, etc.

Teachers need to sign up an account. It used to create the test and questions through their platform.

This platform can let you create many types of question: MC/ True & False, Fill-in-the-blank, Essay, etc.

This platform support chinese characters(view only, not support printed version)  and the most important features: Equation!

After you key in all the questions, you can output as online test (multi-platform), or print it as traditional test paper.

After you finished the online test. You can “double-click” the online test that you prepared. You can find the “pin” cod e for students to join in. Student can go to QuestBase website. Type in the right “Pin” code and start the online test.

Local Cloud – Your personal Cloud storage on Mac/PC

Local Cloud a new cloud storage concepts powered by Delite studio. The concepts : storage files right on your computer, view and edit on them via mobile devices.

As the screenshot above, you need to install the client program on  your Mac or PC. Both of these are free. Then you need to download your IOS APPS to your iPhone/ iPad which is cost $9.99. I download it on free when they have promotion. You may use “Appshopper” to monitor the sale (web / apps).

After a quick trial, I pretty awesome on their speed. Really fast and smooth. When you view the files through “local Cloud” via your idevices. Local Cloud need to download it first (of course both computer and idevices using the same WiFi network). Then you can view or using other third-party apps to view it. Some of you may concern “Can it use multi-devices at the same time?”, the answer is yes! It suit for classroom use!

Local Cloud suitable for classroom (be careful the classroom’s computer ip, static ip is advised). Teachers can save the files/ video on the shared folder of Local Cloud on the PC. Students can use/ download it by themselves. Safe, fast and convenient  ! Offical FAQ is here.

Sketchlot – create & share sketches

Sketchlot – A new web 2.0 services that you can create , share your sketch to others. But this tool is specially designed for educational use. It can also support share student’s sketch to peer (all  or selected) or teachers!

The flow is : teacher needs to sign up account, add students account (just need name and password).

Then, teacher can create his/her sketchlot first, then pass share and choose the selected student to share. After it, students will received the teacher’s sketch or student can create their own piece and share to peer.

All flow can be done within the browser. Really good for school in teaching!

1) Create teacher’s account, remember need to create a “class code” with letter and number.

2) Then you will see a control panel. Now, you should create student list.

3) Student account password can be same on saving. But I did not recommend the same password as you can’t access it except the first student.

4) Create your own sketch , then press share sketch button.

5) Student can use browser to login into sketchlot website (using class code you assigned and students password). If students share their own sketch to you. You will see them on the control panel( refresh the browser in case no can’t see anything).

Teachers can use them inside the classroom. I just found that you can use it on “Nearpod” share function. It works well.

 

 

Google Street View Collection

Google starts street view for a long time. Most of the people know that it can view the “street” via google map. The Google team tries to explore more. Thus, they create “Art Project”. It  lets student can walk through famous museums just a second – using first-sight and indoor street view function.

Now, Street view has many collections: World Wonders, Amazon, Ocean, World Landmarks, etc. If you type “Google street view collection” on different country google search engine, it will have different results. Here is some of this:

ABCya Animate – Create GIF online

ABCya! Animate  – It’s powered by ABCya.com. They launched an online animation engine to create GIF easily.

All you have is : a browser with Flash support (sorry for iPad, except Puffin browser).

The UI is wonderful. Really attractive to students. You can draw with pen, type your text, paste with stickers. Also, you can copy the pervious frame to create your GIF. All functions in one UI with easy control.
